Totally Bespoke Learning
My training is 100% based on what you or your crew members want (or need!) to learn. I listen to your needs and build something that will address them, and have worked with individuals in the TV, documentary, branded content, and corporate sectors.
Self-Shooter
Focussed
My training takes into account the many roles that the self-shooter in the UK TV and content world is often juggling - camera, sound, lights, even working with contributors. It's a multi-faceted role and the aim is always to make your shooting life easier, not harder!
Highly Experienced Trainer
I'm a working professional with over 20 years in the field as DoP, camera operator, and self-shooting director. Credits include shows for Channel 4, BBC, SBS, Sky and Bloomberg, as well as for branded content clients such as Rolex, Intel, and Casual Films.

Get to grips with new cameras and improve your shooting skills.
Bespoke training that teaches you what you need to learn.
I offer hands-on, practical training for those wanting to improve their shooting skills for factual TV and documentary. My clients are researchers, AP’s, PD’s and self-shooters of all shapes and sizes, as well as those simply wanting to get to grips with new camera systems.
My priority is always to demystify the technical side of the camera and create shooting habits that make your life easier. In doing so, you have much more energy to gear towards the story you're telling and the face to face work with contributors.

I also work in consultation with production companies to up-skill staff members and rethink in-house equipment packages.

Testimonials

"The training I received was absolutely brilliant. I went from little-to-no understanding of cameras, lighting and sound recording to - after two days - having a strong understanding of how the camera works, how to make adjustments, how to light subjects and how to record sound using lapel microphones. By the end of the training I felt capable of filming my own Interviews and short films."
