Shooting with the
Sony FX3
Learn to shoot with Sony's latest DSLR-type cameras
The FX3 is a powerhouse of an image creator but can be a difficult camera to shoot with. The lack of internal NDs, difficult-to-see LCD screen and overall form factor can make it a tricky camera to master, especially for people coming to it who are relatively new to shooting.
General areas that I will always cover in my training include:
- Working from the inside out: setting up the menus and external switches to leave the camera 'bulletproof'
- Exposure using the camera's in-built tools (zebra & waveform)
- Auto-focus settings for different shooting scenarios
- Working with an external ND filter
- Shooting in S-Log3 and S-Cinetone
- Working with LUT's and an external monitor
- Shooting handheld - how can we make it work?
- Gimbal shooting (if requested)
As with all my training, I shape the course to what you specifically need to learn, and can incorporate specific exercises, shooting scenarios and additional equipment to replicate what you'll be shooting in the field.
